LESSON PLAN: SPEAKING
Name of the lesson: CONSERVATION
Class: Grade 10
Timing: 45 minutes
Aims: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:
+ present their ideas about zoos of the new kind
+ ask and answer about protecting endanger species in real conversation
Teaching aids: textbook, pictures, board.
PROCEDURE
WARM UP: ANIMAL’S GAME
Class arrangement: The class will be divided into 4 groups named from 1 to 4
Instructions:
“There will be 12 pictures of animals that belong to 3 categories FARM ANIMALS, WILD and ZOO ANIMALS, and PETS. I’m going to show you one of them turn by turn. Your duty is to give me the name of animal in each picture. If any group being the first one having the right answer and classify this animal in its categorywill get 1 point. If this group can’t give the right answer, the other groups will have chance to answer.
For example, when I show the picture of a lion, and group 1 is the first one having the answer “LION” and classifies it in “WILD and ZOO ANIMALS”, they will get 1 point. If they don’t give the right answer, the other groups will take turn.”

ELICITING VOCABULARY
Endangered species:animal with small in number and possibility of extinction.
Eg: tigers, pandas, red-head cranes…are endangered species.
Imprison (v) to put or keep sb, sth in prison.

Reconstruct(v) to build or make st again that has been damaged or no longer exists.
Breed (v)to raise or to keep animals for purpose of producing young
Reintroduce (v) to put a type of animal, bird or plant back into a region where it once lived

Playing game “RUB AND REMEMBER”
STAGE 2: PRACTICE
ACTIVITY 1
Class arrangement: work in pairs
Instructions:
In each pair, Ss will read the paragraphs and take turn to ask and answer 2 questions in the textbook
For what purpose do zoos of the new kind opened?
What are their main features?
- Teacher asks one or two pairs to speak out in front of class.
Feedback:
It is used to provide as natural an environment as natural as possible for the animals.
The places are where endangered species can develop.
Animals can live in natural environment.
They are not the places where animals are imprisoned.
ACTIVITY 2:
Teacher asks Ss to do task 2 individually in the textbook and then share their ideas with the class.
Task2: Put a tick (() in the right box to show your agreement or disagreement. Then share your ideas with a partner.

Instructions:(Teacher draws faces of two people on the blackboard). This is Nam and this is Hoa. They are visiting Cuc Phuong National Park. During their visit, they have a talk about the life of animals living in zoos of the new kind.
Nam:I think it would be better for animals if they live in zoos of the new kind because they may have better food.

Hoa: Yes, I totally agree with you

Nam: And living there, animals may feel happier.
